What's new#
Replays#
- Two independent recording controls. F9 saves the last 30 seconds; F10 starts or stops a recording. Change either key and the instant-clip length in Arctic's replay settings. Saving an instant clip leaves an ongoing recording running.
- Game audio in new recordings and videos. Replay playback and MP4 exports include recorded game sounds. Older recordings remain playable without an audio track.
- Smaller clips and faster saves. Compression and removal of obsolete entity history reduce storage and processing, especially in crowded worlds. Saving a clip now acknowledges the key immediately and finishes in the background. Size still depends on activity and duration.
- Explicit video rendering. MP4 rendering is off by default and can be started with Render queued videos. It uses the Minecraft window, so you cannot play during rendering. Queues from an earlier launch wait for you to resume them; Escape pauses rendering.
Instances and menus#
- Installed mods have a search field. Large mod lists scan in the background and draw only visible rows so the instance page stays responsive.
- Arctic keeps native menu controls, including controls added by other mods, while applying its styling and title branding.
- Arctic's server browser opens by default and stays selected after closing settings; the native server screen remains available.
Fixed#
- Dragging the scrollbar in Arctic's mods menu now scrolls the list.
- Replay camera controls and paths refresh correctly after editing keyframes.
- Rewinding keeps the replay editor, camera direction and pause state without replacing the view with a loading screen. Large seeks can still pause while the world is reconstructed.
- Replay respawns clear the previous death pose.
- Crowded-world replay buffering handles bursts more efficiently and keeps cleanup work off the packet writer.
- Video exports wait for terrain and apply the camera before capturing their first frame; audio seeking works on older Minecraft versions too.
- A queued video opening cannot interrupt a newly joined live game.
Known issue#
- Some players report Arctic HUD widgets missing after joining until they open the emote wheel. This intermittent issue is still under investigation and is not claimed fixed in this release.
