Terms of Service
Plain rules.
Use Arctic at your own risk, keep it fair for other players, and know that you are responsible for the mods and clients you add. Read how your data is handled on the privacy page.
What these terms cover
Arctic Launcher is a free, open-source Minecraft launcher. Its code is licensed under the GPL-3.0-or-later license, and that license is what lets you use, change and share the launcher itself. These terms are about the rest: this website and Arctic's online features, which are the cosmetics and looks service, friends and chat, voice rooms, the skin gallery, the public server list, and crash reports and suggestions.
By using the launcher's online features or this website you agree to these terms. If you don't, you can still use the launcher offline; just don't use the online features.
Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft
Arctic Launcher is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by Mojang Studios or Microsoft. "Minecraft" is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.
To play online on servers that check accounts you need a Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition, and you must follow the Minecraft End User License Agreement. Arctic doesn't give you a license to the game and doesn't change what a server lets you do.
Use it at your own risk
Arctic Launcher and its online features are provided as they are, without any warranty, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise that they will always work, be available, or be free of mistakes, and we may change or stop an online feature at any time.
To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for lost worlds, lost data, crashes, bans, or any other damage that comes from using Arctic or anything you install with it. Keep backups of worlds you care about.
Mods, clients and downloads are your responsibility
The launcher downloads game files, mods, loaders and clients from Mojang, Modrinth, GitHub and similar sources, and it lets you add your own. Those are made by other people and have their own licenses and terms. You decide what to install and you are responsible for it.
Bedrock support can load third-party clients, such as Latite and Flarial, that you choose. Using them is at your own risk. Servers can ban modified clients, and a ban is between you and that server. Arctic Client switches off features that some servers don't allow on those servers, but we can't promise that this covers every server or rule.
Names and what you upload
Your display name, the skins, capes and other images you upload or share to the gallery, and the messages you send must be yours to share, and must not be hateful, sexual, violent or threatening, impersonate someone else, break the law, or infringe someone else's rights. Don't put personal information of other people in them.
By sharing a skin or cape to the gallery, or equipping one, you let Arctic store it and show it to other Arctic players. You keep the rights to what you made. You can remove what you shared at any time.
New gallery skins are checked by a moderator before they show up, and items that other players report are hidden after a few reports. We may remove or hide any name or upload that breaks these terms.
Fair use of the online features
Don't harass other players, spam friend requests, invites or chat, try to get around limits, probe or overload Arctic's servers, impersonate others, or use the services to cheat or harm people. Don't list a server in the public server list that you don't run or that is misleading.
We may limit, suspend or ban an account, profile or device key from Arctic's online features, remove content, or remove a server from the public list, at our discretion, when these terms are broken or to protect other people. Because the launcher is open source, this doesn't stop you from running the launcher itself.
Your data
What Arctic stores about you, why, for how long and how to have it deleted is on the privacy page.
Changes and questions
We may update these terms. The date below changes when we do, and continuing to use the online features means you accept the new version. Questions are welcome by e-mail at [email protected].
